MN-UN: How would you describe how you got your start in the business?
GR: My dad lived in California, and when we’d visit, I’d ask him to bring us to a different winery every day. We fell in love with the whole winery experience and wanted to bring that back to Minnesota to our area. We owned an apple orchard and with that got our Farm Winery license.
MN-UN: Of the ciders you produce, which is your favorite & why?
GR: My favorite of our wines is Wicked. It’s a blend of MN Frontenac done in the port style with Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s rich, smooth, very delicious – and, who doesn’t love the name!
Our best selling wine is our Castle Red – people really love it because it appeals to both the sweet wine drinkers, and those that like it a little more dry.
MN-UN: Tell us about a unique wine or wine-related product you have ?

GR: This year we are expanding into offering hard ciders. We’re very excited to work with our team to decide how to finish these ciders for our customer’s appeal.
MN-UN: What is something about your business, that you wish more people knew?
GR: There are wines out there that are less expensive, but as a small winery, our costs to make wine are more than the big guys are selling theirs for – an advantage of quantity.
MN-UN: What is your favorite gift/gadget to give, or receive?
GR: Cork cages – they come in so many fun and decorative shapes and sizes.
MN-UN: We recommend stopping by Glacial Ridge Winery for their fantastic events. Lots going on throughout the winter…
