Burgundy! What’s your blizzard day wine today??!! Looking for a great Pinot Noir without breaking the bank? Keep your eyes peeled for “villages” on the label – indicating that it’s from a number of villages in a region (in this example, fruit from 14 villages in the area can be included). Wines from each specific village are known for expressing unique characteristics, and thus usually cost more. A village-level can blend the best of several, and be had for a lower price.
From 2013, this wine has just reached its mid-life and is showing just a touch of its age, but plenty of vibrant fruit left to offer.
I bought this on a close-out for $19 (which is KILLER), guessing it would retail around $25-30?
