Tasting Notes: 2012 Chateau Saint Sernin Cahors (Malbec) - Minnesota Uncorked™

Tasting Notes: 2012 Chateau Saint Sernin Cahors (Malbec)

This zippy Malbec was just what the fall weather asked for.

Deep ruby, blue rim, presence of slow tears. Medium + intensity nose with aromas of fresh blackberry, plum skin, vanilla, ash, earth and a hint of cedar. Floral. Medium body, medium + acidity and medium, sharp and grippy tannins. Flavors match the nose, with good concentration and a long pleasant finish.

Drinking well now and has the structure to age well another 5 years.

Bought this wine on a killer close out for $9 but would say it’s easily a value for twice that.
