Southwestern Minnesota: Painted Prairie

painted2MN-UN: How would you describe how you got your start in the business?

PPV: The winery became available for purchase in 2014; we came and checked it out and fell in love! It has been a wild ride but it’s a fun new adventure!

MN-UN: Of the ciders you produce, which is your favorite & why?

PPV: Marquette is our favorite! We love the versatility of the wine; you can enjoy it with a nice steak or just sitting on the deck in the afternoon!

MN-UN: Tell us about a unique wine or cider related product you have at Painted Prairie?

PPV: Next summer we are excited to showcase our new Apple wine and Apple cider! The apples came from a local orchard and we are excited how everything is coming together.

MN-UN: What’s the best “bang for your buck” wine or cider (not made by you)?
PPV:
Morada Old Vine Zinfandel

While Painted Prairie is currently closed for the winter, you can visit them at next spring in Currie, Minnesota at 1575 250th or online at paintedprairiewine.com.

(They hope to have year-around hours starting in 2018!)
